José María Ruiz Ilundáin is the partner in charge of Garrigues’ office in San Sebastián, where he heads up the corporate/commercial law area of the office. He has pursued his entire professional career at Garrigues after working for Arthur Andersen, Asesores Legales y Tributarios in Bilbao.

He specializes in commercial and corporate law and, in particular, in sales and purchases and mergers of companies, both in Spain and abroad, corporate reorganizations, private equity, joint ventures and commercial contracts in general.

He is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences taught by Garrigues, as well as various specialist centers (ADEGI, APD, etc.), and has written a range of articles and publications on current affairs in relation to his areas of expertise.

Law Degree, Universidad de Navarra.

José Maria has been a lecturer in the corporate reorganization module in the Master’s Degree in Business Law and Tax and Legal Counseling at Universidad de Navarra and has been a guest lecturer at Universidad del País Vasco. Since 2011, he has been an internship tutor at Universidad del País Vasco.

Member of the Guipúzcoa and Pamplona Bar Associations.

He has been singled out as leading corporate, restructuring and insolvency practitioner by international directories such as Best Lawyers and International Law Office (Client Choice).
