Las calificaciones ambientales sociales y de gobierno corporativo (ESG) han surgido como una herramienta importante para evaluar por terceros el desempeño de una empresa en términos de sostenibilidad y responsabilidad social.
Pero, ¿qué son exactamente los ratings ESG y cómo se relacionan con los ratings de crédito? Siendo relativamente recientes, pueden existir dudas de qué califican estos ratings ESG y cómo se relacionan directa o indirectamente con los tradicionales ratings de crédito.
En esta sesión, que contará con María Martín de Vidales, de Morningstar Sustainalytics, y Marcos Álvarez, de DBRS Morningstar, exploraremos su importancia en la evaluación del desempeño corporativo. Analizaremos cómo estos ratings miden el impacto de una empresa en el medioambiente, su compromiso con las prácticas laborales justas y su gestión corporativa ética y transparente. Además, aunque directamente no tienen relación y el análisis es muy distinto, veremos cómo pueden llegar a ser utilizados por los inversores y prestamistas para considerarlo en su evaluación del riesgo de crédito, ya que una buena calificación ESG puede determinar si una empresa es financieramente estable o una inversión es segura.
También, se profundizará sobre las metodologías e información disponible para la realización de estos ratings ESG y la existencia de ratings ESG solicitados y no solicitados por una sociedad.
