Alba Santos is a senior associate in the Criminal Law practice area at Garrigues’s Barcelona office, the firm she joined in 2008. Her professional career has centered on corporate criminal law.

She has extensive experience in all kinds of criminal proceedings, particularly those involving crimes against the Public Finance Authority; property and corporate crimes; crimes against natural resources and the environment; offenses against workers’ rights and safety; and crimes against the public authorities.

She has acted as both defense attorney and on behalf of the private prosecution in court proceedings before all levels of the criminal courts and in out-of-court negotiations.

She provides recurring advice to companies on the design and implementation of criminal risk management systems with a view to preventing, detecting and, where appropriate, remedying any offenses that may have been committed within the business organization.

Attorney with rights of audience before the children’s courts and expert in prisons law.

She has lectured on the Master’s Degree in Forensic Document Examination and Graphology at Universitat de Barcelona, as well as on the Second Course on Investigation Practice (CPOI), 2010, at Col.legi Oficial de Detectius Privats de Catalunya.

She has also tutored on the Executive Master’s Degree in Business Law at Centro de Estudio Garrigues (2009 – 2010 and 2010 – 2011).

Alba Santos is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association.
