Álvaro Pérez Arbizu has been a partner of the Litigation and Arbitration and Restructuring and Insolvency Departments of Garrigues since 2005, and is currently the partner in charge of both departments in Andalusia and the Canary Islands.
He specializes in civil litigation and has extensive experience in the case management of lawsuits in the areas of obligations and contracts, corporate disputes, directors’ liability, construction, banking law and insurance, among others. He is also an expert in insolvency law, acting as legal counsel in numerous insolvency proceedings and participating in complex business restructurings and refinancing deals.
Álvaro holds a Degree in Law from Universidad de Sevilla and a Master’s Degree in Senior Management from Instituto Internacional San Telmo.
In the academic field, he is currently a permanent lecturer at the Aranzadi Insolvency Forum in Seville and a lecturer on the Master’s Degree in Legal Practice at Universidad Loyola Andalucía.

Experience
Álvaro Pérez joined Garrigues in 1992, and is currently the partner in charge of the Litigation and Arbitration and Restructuring and Insolvency Departments in Andalusia and the Canary Islands.
Litigation and arbitration specialist: he has experience in advising both public and private entities, leading numerous proceedings in the civil jurisdiction.
Insolvency law expertise: from the outset of his professional career, he has participated in the case management of a great many insolvency proceedings. He currently involved in a large number of restructuring and refinancing processes and has taken on the case management of several of the most significant insolvency proceedings in Andalusia and the Canary Islands.
