Experience
Celia is a counsel in the Intellectual Property department.
Her practice focuses on intellectual property (with emphasis on trade marks, designs and domain name disputes), image rights, advertising and unfair competition issues. She has particular expertise in all aspects of trademark protection and enforcement – both contentious and non-contentious – focusing on well-known and recognized trade marks in sports, IT and luxury goods industries.
Celia has extensive experience in trademark portfolio management, brand clearance and strategy, and proceedings before the Spanish Patents and Trademarks Office and the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM). Her work on contentious matters involves infringement and invalidity proceedings before the Spanish Community Trademark Courts, the Supreme Court and the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg.
Celia also advises on contractual matters, such as drafting and negotiating license and coexistence agreements, and assisting the M&A team in a vast number of corporate transactions involving IP matters.

She regularly contributes to the bi-monthly magazine and daily newsletter of the World Trademark Review, and collaborates in educational activities in conjunction with the Spanish Institute for Trade and Investment (ICEX), aimed at increasing awareness among small and medium-sized enterprises of the importance of managing intellectual property as a business asset. She also carries out pro bono work for non-profit organizations, such as the Spanish Federation of Food Banks or Junior Achievement.
