Javier Carmona is a partner in the Litigation and Arbitration and Restructuring and Insolvency practices at the Firm’s Barcelona office.
He has extensive experience in advising and defending domestic and international clients in judicial and arbitral proceedings of a civil and commercial nature. Of particular note is his participation in corporate disputes and disputes relating to the liability of managing bodies, unfair competition, termination of agency and distribution relationships, construction defects and the termination and/or interpretation of all kinds of contracts. He has also acted in numerous insolvency proceedings, at times advising the debtor and others the creditor both in the pre-insolvency and insolvency phases.
In recent years, directories such as Chambers&Partners and Best Lawyers have highlighted his work in the litigation practice. He is a regular lecturer on matters relating to civil and commercial litigation in master’s programs and specialized courses organized by ESADE, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, Universitat de Barcelona, Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (I.S.D.E.) and the Barcelona Bar Association.
