Javier Sabater Ekelschot is a Principal Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Department of Garrigues, which he joined in 2004.

He has extensive experience in advising on pre-litigation and litigation matters before numerous courts throughout Spain. Among his most notable specialisations are those related to advising on construction, real estate, banking and maritime law, as well as in the field of tourism in general and the hotel sector in particular, advising numerous national and international companies in these industries.

In his professional activity he has been involved in highly complex litigation, including:

• Litigation in the field of banking law in defence of financial institutions.
• Litigation on general contracting conditions.
• Litigation concerning directors' liability.
• Litigation concerning the arresting of yachts.
• Enforcement of judicial and extrajudicial titles.
• Recognition and enforcement in Spain of foreign titles.

He specialises in advising on the preparation of contracts in the real estate and construction business.

He also has extensive experience in the preparation of wills for non-residents.
