José Luis Zurro has been a partner in Garrigues’ Tax Department since 2004, having joined the firm after a period at Arthur Andersen.

He provides advice on an ongoing basis on tax matters generally, with a particular focus on the areas of M&A and taxation, family business consulting, and accounting law.

He specializes in advising businesses, including both family businesses and multinational companies with a local presence. He has been involved in a host of business reorganization operations, whether in the context of family businesses (with a view to obtaining the tax benefits that the legislation offers for entities of this kind), or in operations to acquire the control of companies, for the restructuring of business activities, the exit of shareholders, etc. In the family business area, he also collaborates with the leading private banking entities in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, and with family business associations. He participates in the preparation and drafting of family protocols and in the drafting of shareholders’ agreements and side agreements.

He also provides advice on an ongoing basis to large corporations, primarily in Castilla y León, in respect of contractual and corporate matters, in his capacity as advisor to the Board or as nondirector secretary of the managing body.

He has a degree in economics and business studies (business area) from Universidad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales de Valladolid.
