Octavio Llamas is a partner in Garrigues' Commercial Department in the Murcia office, where he practices as an expert in civil and commercial law. He advises on different matters such as mergers and acquisitions, restructuring of corporate groups and business reorganizations, financing, corporate law, including board secretarial work, and commercial and civil contracts. He has extensive experience in advising companies in a wide range of sectors: agriculture, chemicals, development and construction, services and tourism. He holds a degree in Law and Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE E-3). He is a member of the Murcia Bar Association and the Official Association of Economists of the Region of Murcia. He has been recognized as Best Lawyer in his area of practice on numerous occasions.
Experience
He began his professional career at KPMG Abogados SLP in 1991, where he remained until 2001, becoming Manager and head of the Alicante office.
In September 2001 he joined the Murcia office of Garrigues, in the commercial law department.
In 2009 he was promoted to partner of the firm.
Octavio LLamas has participated in numerous M&A transactions since joining the firm. He also provides recurring advice to some of the most important companies in his area of practice, both in corporate law (assisting his clients, both at board meetings and general shareholders' meetings) and in contractual matters, both national and international (purchase and sale, supply, agency and distribution contracts, among others).
Academic background
Degree in Law and Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE E-3).
Teaching activity
He has given numerous courses and conferences on the subject of his speciality in various institutions, among the most recent: ENAE Business School (El Protocolo Familiar), Fundación Universidad Empresa (Responsabilidad de Administradores), Colegio de Abogados de Murcia (El Administrador de Hecho), Cámara de Comercio de Murcia y Cámara de Comercio de Murcia (Novedades del nuevo artículo 348.bis L.S.C.).
Distinctions
Octavio LLamas has been recognized as Best Lawyer in his practice area continuously since 2014. In addition, he has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year in commercial law in the Region of Murcia in 2020 and 2021.
